Grand Mufti: Current Events in Syria Intended to Serve Zionist Entity

Grand Mufti of the Republic, Dr. Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun said that the events in Syria and the attempts to fragment the region along religious and confessional lines are designed to create justifications that perpetuate the Zionist entity in the region.

Meeting a media delegation from Latin America on Thursday, Hassoun said that the aggression on Syria is aimed to discourage it from its national and pan-Arab stances, affirming that ”Syria will emerge stronger from the crisis thanks to the awareness, unity and steadfastness of the Syrian people.”

Members of the delegation said their visit aims at getting a close look at the events unfolding in Syria and conveying the true image to the countries and peoples of the world, away from the dirty media campaign against Syria.

Earlier, a media delegation of five journalists from Venezuela, Chile, Paraguay, Argentine and Mexico started a visit to Syria few days ago and met with a number of Syrian officials.
