European Politician Says Coaxed into Anti-Islam Movie Production by Israeli Lobbies
Former member of Geert Wilders’ anti-Islamic Party for Freedom Arnoud van Doorn – who made a film claiming Muslims are violent – said the Zionist and US lobbies had coaxed him into producing the movie.
“The US-Israeli lobby were the main cause which coaxed me into producing the insulting film to distort Islam’s face,” van Doorn said in an interview with the Kuwait-based Arabic-language al-Rai newspaper on Tuesday.
“I made this film at the time for my ignorance of Islam because I thought that Islam leaves negative impacts on Europeans’ life; of course this is no good excuse and I strongly regret what I did,” van Doorn, who has now coverted to Islam, added.
Van Doorn used to be a leading member of the Party for Freedom in Netherlands, headed by the notorious Geert Wilders.
In 2008 he helped market a short film produced by Wilders entitled ‘Fitna’ (sedition) in which Islam is portrayed as a religion that promotes violence and terrorism.
The film was widely condemned and caused uproar in the Muslim world.
He decided to become a Muslim a few years later, after learning about the teachings of Islam.
At the moment he is President of the European Da’wah Foundation, and Ambassador of Celebrity Relations for the Canadian Da’wah Association in Europe. He is a Member of the Board and Official Representative for the PvdE, a political party based on Islam, in the city council of The Hague.
