ayatulla imamiTehran, Sept 28, IRNA — Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader Ayatollah Emami Kashani said that today Iran’s Jihad is not military, but Iranians are challenging the enemy in the political, economic and ethical scenes.

Addressing Friday prayers congregation in Tehran, he added that Iran managed to cope with military Jihad during the Sacred Defense Era (1980-88), but today the form of Jihad has changed and the nation is currently waging a war in the economic, political and ethical domains.

He also called on the nation to stand united in the current war too.

Stating that sacred defense is a reality, Emami Kashani noted that when the enemy attacked the country all the youth inspired by the guidelines of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, rushed to the frontline and defended the country against the aggressions.

Referring to the political situation in the country, he also urged the officials to close ranks and avoid rifts because it contradicts the teachings of the Sacred Defense era.

Contending that the objective behind production of the anti-Islam film insulting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is to humiliate the Islamic sanctities, he added that they have experienced a heavy blow from Islam and they fear the ever-increasing wave of the Islamic awakening.

‘The film insulted not only Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), but it also disrespected the divine messengers,’ he said.
