8th Moharram Azadari processions held across Pakistan amid tight security

The main mourning processions of the 8th Muharram Azadari were brought out yesterday in all over Pakistan in commemoration of the martyrdoms of Imam Hussain (AS) and his loyal companions in Karbala in 61 A.H.

The main procession in Karachi was taken out from Nishtar Park on Friday and culminated at the Imambargah Husanian Iranian, Kharadar.
The procession that began after Majlis-i-aza and passed through Numaish Chowrangi, MA Jinnah Road, where they Shia mourners offered Namaz-e-Zohr and Asr at the main road in front of Masjid and Imam Bargah Ali Raza (AS).
Similar processions were brought out in Lahore, Parachinar, Gilgit Baltistan, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta, Peshawar, Attock, and Multan and in all other parts of Pakistan.
Beefed up security arrangements were made to avoid any untoward incident. Cell phone service and pillion riding on motorcycles were also banned in many cities.
