Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has formed an azadari cell in Karachi to monitor matters relating to azadari and coordinate with the police and rangers on relevant administrative matters. Maulana Ali Anwar Jafari heads the cell.

Mubashir Hassan Zaidi, Raza Naqvi, Shabbar Zaidi, Hasnain Haideri, Ahsan Abbas, Sibt-e-Asghar, Zain Rizvi and Sajjad Samaairi have been appointed as members at azadari cell.
MWM officials Allama Sadiq Jafari, Nasir Hussaini, Raza Naqvi and Mubashir Hassan have made it clear to the government officials that hosting and participating in mourning congregations to pay homage to Imam Hussain (AS) is the Constitutional, legal, religious and cultural right of Shia Muslims of Pakistan. They said that gagging pro-peace moderate Shia scholars by the government was unfair and amounted to equate the victims with the culprits of terrorism and hate-mongers. They turned down the ban on entry of Shia scholars demanding that all such bans should be lifted forthwith. They demanded release of innocent Shia youth who the law enforcement agencies rounded up in ongoing witch-hunt.
