farokiNotorious takfiri terrorist of outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba/Lashkar-e-Jhangvi who contested election to Sindh Assembly from PS-128 Karachi, was defeated by the rival Sunni contender, as per result announced on Saturday night.

Farooqi whose terrorist group Sipah-e-Sahaba was renamed as Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat after a ban was imposed on it for terrorist activities, was a nominated candidate of Muttahida Deeni Mahaz in the election.

The polling was held on May 11 like elections in other parts of Pakistan but polling on 6 polling stations of the PS-128 was postponed due to a huge blast in Dawood Chali, an area of the constituency. The re-polling on the polling station numbers 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 was held on Saturday.

Waqar Shah, the rival Sunni Muslim candidate who belongs to a political party, said at a press conference that the terrorists had forced his polling agents and supporters not to go to polling stations. They thrashed the polling agents and even snatched polling related stuff, cell phones and purse from women polling agents. He said that he was also surrounded 200 terrorists and army and rangers came to rescue him.

Despite massive rigging and terrorism, Aurangzeb Farooqi failed to win the PS-128 but he managed to narrow the huge margin by manipulating tactics. Waqar Shah who had secured over 2300 more votes in the May 11 polling won the constituency despite the re-polling that he opposed and challenged the Election Commission decision in the court. It seems that some pro-takfiri elements wanted Farooqi to become MPA by massive rigging in the re-polling.
