Palestinian Official: Saudi Arabia Stepping in Israel’s Footsteps in Region

A senior member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Fath Movement blasted Saudi Arabia for taking orders from Israel in the region and supporting the Takfiri terrorists.

“Saudi Arabia is acting on behalf of Israel and by waging a war in Yemen it has destroyed the economy of that country,” Abu Ayad Zahra told FNA on Saturday.

He reiterated that Saudi Arabia has always hatched plots against the Muslims and today it is a protégé of the colonialist bodies.

Zahra pointed to the recent statement by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council against the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement, and said, “The PGCC should have introduced Israel as terrorist.”

Zahra said branding Hezbollah as terrorist has been done by the opponents of the Palestinian cause.

“Hezbollah is a resistance movement that has liberated its lands and it is now preparing itself to seize back Palestine; hence it has been attacked,” he said.

On Wednesday, the six-member PGCC, which includes Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, labeled Hezbollah a terrorist organization.

Hezbollah, a paramilitary and political organization originating in Lebanon’s Shiite population, was established in the 1980s. The group has been fighting alongside the Syrian government against the ISIL terrorists and other extremist militant groups since 2011.

Hezbollah is considered a terrorist organization by a number of countries including Israel, the United States and the United Kingdom, but not by Russia, Iran and many other world states.
