General Esmail Qaani Calls for an End to Yemen’s 11-Year Blockade
Ending Yemen’s 11-Year Blockade Is the Legitimate Right of Its Oppressed People, Says General Qaani
Shiite News: General Esmail Qaani, Commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said that ending the blockade imposed on Yemen over the past 11 years is the legitimate and humanitarian right of the country’s people.
In a message, he expressed hope that the Saudi government would learn from what he described as the United States’ “unwise and costly policies” and lift the blockade on a Muslim country with a population of more than 38 million.
He added that the Muslim world expects Saudi Arabia, which describes itself as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to use its capabilities and resources to support the Palestinian people and confront what he described as Israeli oppression, rather than continuing war and pressure against what he called an oppressed Muslim nation.

General Qaani further stated that maintaining the blockade on Yemen is not a source of pride, whereas helping the people of Gaza and working for their relief is something worthy of pride.
