We avenge the innocent until our last breath: Iran’s parl. speaker

In a powerful message following the tragic attack on a school in southern Iran, Majlis (Parliament) speaker vows to seek justice for the innocent children killed in the assault that was carried out as part of renewed Israeli-American aggression against the Islamic Republic.

In a post shared on X on Tuesday, Mohammad-Baqer Ghalibaf highlighted the emotional words of a mother, whose child had been martyred in the attack.

The top legislator expressed unwavering support for the victims’ families and emphasized that the Iranian people would not rest until the blood of their innocent children was avenged.

Citing the video, Ghalibaf wrote, “As long as these proud mothers and lion-hearted women of Iran are alive, the path of the Martyr Imam of the Revolution (Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei) will triumph over any invader, traitor, or betrayer of the homeland.”

He concluded his post with a solemn pledge, “We are the avengers of the blood of Iran’s innocent and oppressed children until our last breath.”

The post came as the country continues to mourn the victims of the brutal attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in the city of Minab in Hormozgan Province, which claimed the lives of 165 children and left nearly 100 others injured.

On Tuesday morning, residents of Minab took to the streets to mourn the loss of their children. Mourners, many of whom were holding small coffins and photographs of the victims, gathered in the city for a funeral procession. The grief-stricken community echoed with cries and prayers as families bid farewell to their loved ones in a ceremony marked by both sorrow and outrage.
The attack occurred on Saturday, when the Israeli regime and the United States began bringing the whole country under fresh and unprovoked deadly atrocities.

The two-story building targeted during the assault housed both a boys’ and a girls’ school, leading to massive devastation. The strike left thick smoke rising from the debris, while emergency teams searched for survivors.

The scale of the tragedy has prompted widespread condemnation from Iranian officials.

Minab’s prosecutor called the attack “criminal” and “savage,” noting that the victims included not only children, but also educational staff and parents.

President Masoud Pezeshkian also offered condolences, describing the attack as “heartbreaking” and condemning it as an “inhuman, brutal act.” He added that the assault was a “dark page in the endless record of the aggressors’ crimes” against Iran, a nation, he said, would never forget this attack in its historical memory.
