Allama Ghulam Hasnain Wijdani Reveals Facts Behind Eight-Month Detention in Saudi Arabia
Shiite News: Imam Juma Quetta, Allama Ghulam Hasnain Wijdani, has revealed details regarding his eight-month detention in Saudi Arabia following his Umrah pilgrimage.
In a message shared on social media after his return on December 18, he stated that he was initially held in Jeddah prison and later transferred to another detention center for deportation procedures.
Allama Wijdani clarified that false reports submitted by his opponents from Quetta led Saudi authorities to detain him on suspicion.
However, no charges were proven against him, and authorities later informed him that there was no case pending and he was free to return home.
He confirmed that he was not subjected to any torture, stating that Saudi officials treated him respectfully and ensured basic facilities for detainees.
Expressing gratitude, he thanked believers, scholars, and communities across Pakistan—especially in Karachi, Gilgit, and Nagar—for raising their voices in his support.
He specifically acknowledged the efforts of Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, who raised the issue forcefully in the Senate and remained in contact with Pakistani officials in Jeddah.
Allama Wijdani also thanked Pakistani embassy officials, senior scholars, and religious leaders who played a vital role in securing his release.
