Shiite News: Senior journalist Salman Ghani has claimed that the ongoing defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia could soon be extended to include six additional Gulf countries.
In a tweet on the social media platform X, Ghani stated that while the defense pact is currently between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, there are reports suggesting its expansion to cover six other Gulf nations.
He noted that Saudi Arabia holds a leadership role in the Gulf, and its decisions often set the direction for the region.
This agreement could potentially evolve into a broader bloc, impacting regional security dynamics.
Ghani also highlighted the strategic importance of this defense pact for global powers, saying that Pakistan’s military presence at the gateway to the Middle East would be significant.
He pointed out that it remains to be seen how major world powers will react to Pakistan’s increased military footprint in the region.
In a televised discussion, Ghani reflected on recent developments where Pakistan managed to turn adverse situations into opportunities.
He mentioned the Pulwama incident, which was intended to trap Pakistan, but instead, it showcased India’s vulnerabilities under Narendra Modi. He also referenced the Israeli attack on Qatar as a major event, noting that it sent a clear message to Arab nations, with Pakistan playing a key role in addressing the crisis.
Furthermore, during a speech at the Qatar conference, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for accountability for Israel’s actions and advocated for efforts to revoke Israel’s membership in the United Nations Security Council.
