Borders opened for Seminary Students of Qom and Najaf Stranded in Pakistan

Shiite News: The seminary students of Qom and Najaf, who had been stranded in Pakistan, from returning to Iran have now been cleared.
Following persistent efforts and negotiations by the Pilgrims Committee of Pakistan, all students and their families have been granted permission to cross into Iran through the Taftan and Rimdan borders.
These seminary students had traveled to Pakistan with their families during Muharram for religious preaching.

However, due to the closure of borders following the Iran-Israel war, and later because of Pakistan’s restrictions on ground travel during Arbaeen, they were unable to return to Iran or Iraq.
As a result of Pakistan’s ban on overland travel for Arbaeen pilgrims, hundreds of seminary students from Qom and Najaf, along with millions of pilgrims, suffered severe distress and hardship.

Thanks to the Pilgrims Committee — which was formed after the long march from Karachi to Rimdan led by Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Chairman Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri to press the government for negotiations — a breakthrough was achieved.

The Government of Pakistan has now officially allowed these seminary students and their families to cross into Iran.
It is worth noting that last week, as initial negotiations began, the government had already permitted some students and families waiting at the border to enter Iran through Taftan and Rimdan.
