After ban on by-road travel of pilgrims, now “mashi walk” of Chehlum Imam Hussain (AS) banned in Jhang
Shiite News: Jhang — Another blow has been dealt to the religious rituals and rights of the Shiite nation. After the ban on by-road travel of pilgrims on the occasion of Arbaeen-e-Hussaini, now the “mashi walk” to be held on the occasion of Chehlum Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) has been banned in Pakistan as well.
Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhinder and DPO Captain (R) Bilal Iftikhar Kiyani conveyed the government orders in a meeting with Shiite scholars and organizational officials of Jhang district and said that the “mashi walk” should not be held.
After the meeting, the organizers and scholars instructed the Shia community not to perform the pilgrimage through video messages.
Shia community circles say that this is not just a coincidence but a well-thought-out plan to restrict the rituals of Hussaini.
First, the hearts of poor pilgrims were broken by banning the land journey for Arbaeen — many of whom had prepared for the journey by selling their life savings, jewelry and property — and now another injustice has been committed in Pakistan by banning the pilgrimage.
Believers say that the Shia community will never accept this decision. First, a major blow was dealt, now a new extreme of oppression is being seen. The government has continuously lied after lie, first saying that the problem is security, now by banning the pilgrimage, it has revealed its real intentions.
These steps are a clear message to the nation that all decisions are moving in the same direction — a systematic effort to suppress Shia religious practices in Pakistan.
