Shiite News: The United States vetoed the Gaza ceasefire resolution in the United Nations Security Council.

14 out of 15 members of the Security Council voted in favor of the Gaza ceasefire demand.

Pakistan was among those who voted in favor of the resolution.

Pakistan’s delegate to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar, said that vetoing the resolution would send a dangerous message.

The conditions in Gaza are worse than hell on earth, the conditions there are deteriorating, we will continue to fully support the Palestinian people.

We will also continue to raise our voice for the unhindered distribution of aid in Gaza.

Asim Iftikhar said that the Security Council’s failure to reach a ceasefire will be remembered in history.

Pakistan supports an independent and sovereign Palestinian state and Pakistan will continue to fully support the Palestinian people.

Israel is continuously violating international law in Gaza, Pakistan voted in favor of the ceasefire.

Before the vote in the Security Council, US Acting Ambassador to the UN Dorothy Shea told the council that “the United States had made it clear that we will not support any measure that fails to condemn Hamas and does not demand that Hamas disarm and leave Gaza.”

“This resolution will weaken diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire that reflects the realities on the ground and embolden Hamas further.”

The remaining 14 members of the council voted in favor of the draft resolution.
