Shiite News: Vice President Shia Wifaq ul Madaris, Allama Syed Mureed Hussain Naqvi, has said that sacrifice on the occasion of Eid al-Adha is a Sunnat e Muqaddah, which is performed by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) in memory of the sacrifice of his son Hazrat Ismail (AS).

In fact, the philosophy of sacrifice is that man should sacrifice his desires.

He clarified that Shia people can participate in the sacrifice together with their Sunni brothers.

He said that sacrifice is obligatory as part of the rituals of Hajj, while sacrifice is recommended in addition, and the characteristics and conditions of the sacrificial animal in both cases are also different.

He said that on the occasion of Hajj, the sacrifice of an animal in the obligatory sacrifice will be done by a single person, while if 50 people share in the recommended sacrifice of a small or large animal, there is no restriction in Shariah.

Similarly, it is also necessary to clarify that it is not necessary to give seven shares in a large animal like a cow, buffalo or camel. You can make 50 shares in the cow or share it with more people so that no one is deprived of this reward.

If a person gives one thousand rupees or less to contribute his share in the sacrifice, there is no restriction on that either.

In response to a question, Allama Mureed Naqvi clarified that Shiites can contribute together with their Ahle Sunnah brothers.
