Shiite News: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik, denied the claims of 50,000 Pakistanis ‘missing’ in Iraq. This claim was made by the media about the ‘disappearance’ of Pakistani citizens in Iraq.
False and fake news were spread about the disappearance of 50 thousand Pakistani citizens in Iraq. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iraqi Ambassador Hamid Abbas Lafta announced several measures.
The aim is to ease travel restrictions and facilitate the convenience of Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Iraq for Arbaeen.
The historic decisions were taken during a high-level meeting between the two parties on Wednesday, which promised to make the journey smoother and more accessible for thousands of devotees.
Both sides agreed that Pakistani pilgrims going to Iraq for Arbaeen will no longer need to submit their passports.
It was decided in the meeting that the Iraqi Embassy will issue visas to Pakistani visitors, travel agents will be bypassed and the quota of Pakistani visitors will be increased.
