Essential Instructions for Arbaeen Pilgrims
Shiite News: Chehlum of Imam Hussain A.S day is near, people from different countries of the world are going to Karbala Iraq for Arbaeen e Hussaini. Some people have already left Najaf for Karbala on foot in order to reach Karbala peacefully.
But the points that are most useful in this spiritual journey are the experiences of those who have been on this journey many times.
We have selected some of the tips shared by pilgrims on the Arbaeen Walk, which will guide the pilgrims exactly on what to do and what to avoid on this trip.
Do not command the host for anything
In this journey, the sincerity of the Iraqi people in welcoming the pilgrims of Arbaeen is indescribable.
Never say to the servants of the Haram that this place was built with our money, and do not order anything from these people as they spend their time welcoming you with their heart and soul.
Don’t forget to thank the host.
You can use the word “thank you” to say thank.
It’s true that some people will polish your shoes and give you a free massage along the way, but this service is for those who really need it. Do not use this service for entertainment purposes.
Wear soft sandals or slippers instead of shoes, wear comfortable shoes for walking on Arbaeen.
Because if your shoes are even the slightest bit inappropriate, it can cause you a lot of trouble during the Arbaeen walk. But apart from wearing proper footwear, it is better if visitors wear sandals and slippers.
Men may wear sandals and slippers without socks like the rest of Iraqis. You too can welcome Iraqi children.
Usually when we go to an event where children are likely to be present, we take some chocolate with us. Iraqi children are no exception to this rule. You can give them quality chocolates etc from your country. Carry sanitary items with you.
Due to contaminated hands, there are chances of transmission of diseases. For this reason, don’t forget the hand sanitizer. Wash your hands regularly and properly, carry your essential medicines with you.
You will also need sun cream and Vaseline. Pray first time and in congregation. Don’t forget to pray first on the way, wherever you hear the call to prayer, get ready for prayer.
Do not forget that Imam Hussain (a.s.) led congregational prayers on the day of Ashura and in the midst of war. Do not waste water in Iraq. There are many people who do not follow it.
The situation of water supply in Iraq is very bad compared to India and Pakistan, so save water. Be sure to take a 2-3 meter long wire on this trip
Treatment of blistered feet with needles
Don’t put extra stuff in the bag
Do not carry extra load in the Arbaeen walk, as it will increase your difficulties.
Eat less, drink less and get plenty of rest.
When an Iraqi offers to take you into his home
When an Iraqi welcomes you into his house with respect, bow your head and enter the house politely and control your gaze.
If you decide to sleep, do not reserve a place for yourself in advance. Sleeping in a small moukkib is more enjoyable than sleeping in a large and attractive moukkib.
