Al-Khalij Online: According to a Kuwaiti official, Kuwait has the highest percentage of working women among Persian Gulf countries

Lubna Al-Qadi”, Head of the Women’s Studies and Research Center at the College of Social Sciences at Kuwait University, said: Kuwait has the highest percentage of working female citizens among the Persian Gulf countries with a rate of 57.9% in 2023.

According to Shafaqna, Al-Khalij Online wrote: In a seminar entitled “Migration to the Gulf (Persian); Possible future scenarios… a perspective from the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries and the Countries of Origin”, Al-Qadi asserted: “The retirement age for women in Kuwait has been increased from 50 to 53 years old to reinforce their participation in the labor market.”

She explained: Adopting family-friendly policies in the private sector in Kuwait will enable young married women to be attracted to this productive sector.

Earlier, General Directorate of Civil Information in Kuwait had announced: The number of women working in both public and private sectors in 2022 who have university degrees reached 94,057 women compared to 57,273 men. It means that the ratio of working women with university degrees is 64.2 percent higher than men.
