US: Activists arrested following peaceful sit-in calling for a ceasefire

Thousands of Americans took part in a sit-in at Grand Central Station in New York calling for a ceasefire in Gaza as Israel cut the enclave off completely from the world.

Large numbers of activists were arrested, but continued their calls to “let Gaza live”.

Though reports from Gaza have been scarce overnight, Israel could be seen to be carpet bombing large parts of northern Gaza and using banned white phosphorous in built up areas. Some of the bombs hit as close as 1.5km away from Al-Shifa Hospital.

Because of the complete cut in communication it’s not clear what, if any damage has come to the hospital.
