Shiite delegation calls on Christian Bishop of St. Patrick’s Church

Shiite News: A delegation of Shia scholars met with Christian leadrs at St. Patrick’s Church in Karachi.

The delegation included Maulana Asghar Hussain Shahidi, Maulana Ali Afzal Rizvi, Maulana Aqeel Musa, Maulana Sadiq Raza Taqvi, Maulana Sajjad Murtazvi and Maulana Jawad Noori.

The delegation condemned the Jaranwala tragedy and said that this tragedy is a sign that religious extremism and fanaticism are increasing day by day in Pakistan.

Allama Sadiq Taqvi said that this cruel attitude towards minorities should stop, because Pakistan belongs to other religions as much as it belongs to Muslims, the Christian community is very close to our hearts because historically Christian figures have great services for Islam.

Maulana Asghar Shahidi in the delegation said that the recent bill passed by the Senate is a cause of concern for us that it will create more problems for the minority community of Pakistan and that is the reason why we are protesting against it so that no more incidents like Jaranwala.

Finally, Bishop Benny Mario Travis of St. Patrick’s Church said that I am deeply grateful to the Shia community and scholars of Pakistan for standing with us in this difficult time and coming to our church to express our condolences.
