Shiite News: Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, the head of the Shia Ulama Council (SUC), has said in a message to the scholars and Zakireen, khutbahs and Azadaran, founders of congregations and licensees on the beginning of Muharram 1445 AH that in the past the followers of every school and sect of the Holy Land Pakistan used to observe Muharram in accordance with their own methods, teachings and beliefs in the atmosphere of freedom.

Along with the promotion of Ahl al-Bayt, the love and commitment to the Holy Prophet was increasing and the unity of Muslims was being expressed in a practical way.

All this situation became unbearable for the fanatical and narrow-minded extremist elements, so sectarianism was spread under the plan of sabotaging this noble culture.

Therefore, by certain Takfiri elements, fatwas of infidelity against the Shia school of thought, publication of dirty and offensive literature, mosques and madrassas was started in the country.

The minds of the simple people were poisoned in public meetings and processions, but despite all these atrocities and lawlessness, no criminal was arrested nor was a case registered against them, this long sectarianism was turned into violence and state machinery strived to ban Azadari in the country.

Allama Sajid Naqvi said that fundamental rights, civil liberties and religious rights have been protected in the constitution of Pakistan, but the rulers took repressive measures due to prejudice or due to the pressure of sectarians, so extra-constitutional orders were issued to stop the mourning processions with licenses and traditional processions.

Allama Sajid Naqvi said that no official law against mourning was allowed to be passed, the canceled processions were restored, where the majlis were stopped, majlis were held there and told the people categorically that no permission from anyone is required for the majlis.

The government has been urged several times to take strict measures to establish law and order, protect civil liberties.
