Allama Shahenshah Naqvi calls on Pope of Greece
Shiite News: Internationally renowned Shia scholar Allama Syed Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi, had a detailed meeting with spiritual leader of Christians, the Great Pope of Greece Iero Nemos, in Athens, Greece.
Well-known journalist, writer, poet Syed Iqbal Haider, host Syed Ashir Haider Rizvi, poet, literary scholar Dr. Syed Nadeem Abbas Naqvi participated in this meeting.
In the meeting, harmony between the Christian community and Muslims at the global level was emphasized and the promotion of moral and human values was discussed.
Delegation expressed gratitude for the allocation of cemetery land for Muslims in Greece and demanded an extension of the land, which was accepted.
Pope inquired whether to give separate land for Sunnis and Shias. Delegation expressed that there should be a common cemetery for Muslims (one for both Shias and Sunnis).
Pope was interested to know about the history of Muslims, Shia and Sunni mosques and schools of thought, which Allama Shahenshah explained in a very short and concise manner.
With the expression that schools are different but we are all one and we believe in intellectual differences and condemn extremism and hateful attitudes.
When the Pope inquired about the worship of Muslims, he was told in detail and concisely how we worship and what are our days and times of worship. And he inquired about the Ahlul-e-Bayt (peace be upon him) on which he was given a brief and comprehensive briefing.
Pope said that a large number of Muslim orphans are being brought up in their orphanages, they are given the opportunity to worship according to their religion and they have the freedom to observe Muslim customs and rituals.
The responsibility of bringing up the orphans from Muslim war-torn countries, which is being done by the Pope, was thanked.
Most of the Muslim orphans from Afghanistan and Syria are being brought up in these orphanages. One of the goals of this meeting was to thank him for his attention to the affairs of Muslims and to improve it. This meeting can be described as an ideal meeting of human and moral values.
