Pak-Iran must thwart conspiracies together, Iranian Envoy

Shiite News: The ambassador of Iran in Pakistan, Syed Muhammad Ali Hussaini, has said that Pakistan and Iran must together thwart the conspiracies of the international forces disrupting relations between two brotherly neighboring countries.

He expressed these views yesterday while meeting with the officials and members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Quetta, Balochistan.

We will further strengthen bilateral trade relations, through border markets and by eliminating problems and obstacles in the way of industry and trade.

Iranian Ambassador further said that the appointment of relevant officers of Iran will soon be finalized for Taftan Business Terminal.

“And to have stable trade relations, we are in favor of running a freight train from Islamabad to Tehran and Istanbul style from Balochistan to Zahedan and from there to Central Asian states.

Earlier, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Quetta Balochistan President Haji Abdullah Achakzai, Senior Vice President Haji Agha Gul Khalji and Vice President Syed Abdul Ahad Agha and others expressed their views.

And urged the Ambassador of Iran Syed Muhammad Ali Hussaini to play his role regarding Pakistan-Iran Joint Border Markets, Joint Expo Center in Taftan, Establishment of Pakistan Vehicle Loading and Unloading and Godowns in Mirjava, 24-hour Transit Gateway Hours, Free Trade Agreement, Issuance of One Year Visa to Businessmen on the recommendation of the Chamber, Provision of Five Year Multiple Visa Facility, Separate gates for LPG and fresh items, the appointment of relevant Iranian officers in the market, provision of shelter for Pakistani export goods, especially for rice in Zahidan, restoration of frozen accounts of Pakistanis, abolition of taxes imposed on food items and especially vegetables. The abolition of tariffs on rice and other products was demanded.

On this occasion, the ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Syed Muhammad Ali Hussaini, said that there are many investment opportunities in Pakistan, but Balochistan has a special position in all these. He said that in the 24th Joint Border Committee meeting, trade issues were discussed in detail.

He said that Pashin Mand and Gabad border will be inaugurated soon, besides, measures are being taken for border markets in Taftan , Gabad and Panjgur soon.

More facilities and opportunities will be available to the people associated with the border markets, he said, we are also promoting new markets between Mirjawah and Taftan.

He said that recently a delegation consisting of the officials of different chambers of Iran met the officials of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Karachi and signed various memorandums, one of which was to reduce the gap related to trade disputes.

He said that for the implementation of the agreement between Quetta and Zahedan Chambers regarding barter trade, both chambers need special measures and joint exhibitions and other measures for Pakistan-Iran bilateral trade.

We have free trade with Pakistan. In the meeting of the 21st Economic Council, Iran has raised this issue in a vigorous manner. Five meetings have been held so far. We want to hold the sixth meeting. Discussions are ongoing, he said that by implementing the opinions and suggestions of the officials and members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Quetta Balochistan, trade routes will be smoother. We also want a joint exhibition of both countries in Taftan.

He said that we want separate gates at the border for cargo vehicles, foreigners and tourists. He said that we are also looking at the problem of loading and unloading at Mirjawah. In order to further strengthen the relationship, trade professionals are in favor of free entry.

He said that the collection of insurance fee at Quetta and the border is being done according to the instructions of the higher authorities, but he will talk about the collection of insurance fees at the border. Also required such facilities for the goods imported from Iran.

He said that we are in favor of the abolition of the tariff. In the meeting of the former Minister of Commerce of Pakistan with his Iranian counterpart, there was a mutual negotiation on the abolition of the tariff on agricultural products. In view of the economic difficulties, these countries should create a common account so that there are no difficulties in the exchange of funds. He said that the trade between Pakistan and Iran in local currency was also discussed. He said that bilateral measures are also underway for flight service from Quetta to Mashhad.
