Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has demanded of the government and security officials to ensure foolproof security for the mourning congregations and processions of the anniversary of Imam Hussain (AS)’s chehlum.

“Please don’t encourage the terrorists by asking us to limit the azadari. Punish the terrorists so that they don’t pose threat to azadari,” demanded Allama Mukhtar Imami, secretary general of the MWM Sindh chapter, speaking at a press conference on Thursday.

He said that terrorists wanted to destroy entire Pakistan, let alone Shia Muslims. He said that thousands of people were massacred by the same terrorists and their allies who the armed forces are eliminating in the Operation Zarb-e-Azb in the FATA. He urged that there must be similar operations in entire country to liquidate the takfiris.

“Targeted murders of Shia Muslims continued unabated under an organised campaign aimed at genocide against Shia Muslims by the takfiri terrorists. It means government and security officials have failed to establish their writ,” he said.

Allama Imami said that takfiri terrorists were involved in killings of Muslims in settled areas for long and now DAESH terrorist network was being setup. He cited graffiti of DAESH, pro-Daesh sloganeering and flags-hoisting in different areas including Khairpur, home district of Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah who belongs to the PPP.

“Takfiris pose serious threat to people of Pakistan including Sindh province, let alone Chehlum or Ashura. There must be zero tolerance for them. Government and security officials either rid people of terrorists with this devilish mindset or quit so that those capable to do this essentially-needed job, should take over,” he demanded.
