Third day: MWM Parliament House Islamabad protest against Chilas & Karachi killings
Thousands of Shiite Muslims from twin City of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Sunday participated in the Majls Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) sit-in protest on the third consecutive day outside the parliament House in protest against the Chilas tragedy, missing of Shia passengers of Chilas incident, Army crack down against Shiite Muslims and Shia genocide in Gilgit, Karachi and Quetta.
According to the Shiite News Correspondent, the scorching heat has not affected the emotional participants of the sit-in protest, who staged protest outside the parliament house against the killings of Shiite Muslims in Pakistan and government crackdown against the innocent people of Gilgit City.
Caravans from surrounding areas have started reaching the venue to mark solidarity with suppressed people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Notables and professionals have also joined them for a common cause. Many eminent political, religious and social figures have also expressed their all out support to the MWM’s legitimate demands.
Majlis Wahdat Muslameen (MWM) leaders vowed that they would not surrender in front of evil designs of the government saying that the sit-in protest will be held across the country on Tuesday 10th April in solidarity with the people of Chilas, Gilgit and Shiite Muslims of Karachi and Quetta.
Allama Ghulam Askari of Punjab chapter said that it is humiliation of humanity that Shia Muslims were got alighted from buses and then killed ferociously and their bodies were not identifiable because of torture on their faces.
He said that the government should act fast and arrest the people who killed passengers in Bunardas area near Chilas adding that the lives and properties of Shias across the country should be protected and safeguarded by the state. If the government does not act the people would be forced to come on the roads and demand justice.
Thousands of people are part of the sit-in and they have vowed to continue the protest till their demands were met. Some of their demands are lifting of the curfew in Gilgit city, military action against culprits in Chilas, clarification regarding the actual number of people killed in Chilas and the protection of Shia community members across the country.
