The Syrian army continued advances in key areas of Al-Qalamoun in Damascus countryside, and killed tens of terrorists in fierce clashes on Wednesday.

At least 50 terrorists have been killed and many more injured in the army’s ambush attacks in Qareh and al- Natijeh regions of Al-Qalamoun district, FNA dispatches from the region said, and added, “Abu Mohamed Al-Refayee, a notorious ringleader of Ajnad Al-Sham was among the terrorists killed in Qareh.”

Meantime, the army repelled an attempt by a terrorist group to penetrate into Qareh region of Al-Qalamoun.

This was the third attempt by the militants in the last few months to penetrate into Al-Qalamoun region.

On Monday, the Syrian army continued its military operations in different parts of the country, specially outskirts of Damascus, and killed tens of terrorists in fierce clashes.

The Syrian army clashed with the militants in Deir Al-Assafir and Nashabieh areas of Damascus countryside, and killed tens of terrorists in Wadi Ain Tarma region.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs and terrorists against both the army and civilians.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.

Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
