Pakistan’s Imports from Iran Rise Significantly Despite Regional Uncertainty

Shiite News: Despite the ongoing uncertainty in the region, Pakistan has recorded a significant increase in imports from the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to sources in the Ministry of Commerce, Pakistan’s imports from Iran reached $248 million during July and August 2026, marking a 17 percent increase compared with $212 million during the same period last year. Despite regional tensions and the ongoing conflict, trade activities between the two countries continued without interruption.

According to the data, during fiscal year 2025–26, Pakistan imported goods worth a total of $1.395 billion from Iran, representing a 12 percent increase compared with $1.241 billion recorded during fiscal year 2024–25.

A review of trade trends over previous years shows that imports from Iran amounted to $1.037 billion in fiscal year 2023–24. This figure stood at $880 million in fiscal year 2022–23 and $773.8 million in fiscal year 2021–22.

The upward trend has continued over the past several years. Imports from Iran stood at $518.6 million in fiscal year 2020–21, compared with $440 million in fiscal year 2019–20.

The figures indicate that economic ties between Pakistan and Iran have continued to strengthen, with bilateral trade volume showing a gradual upward trend despite regional challenges and uncertainty.
