US President Donald Trump on Friday declared that Iran’s naval blockade had come to an end, while reiterating that Tehran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.

In a message posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump called for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without any transit charges, stressing the importance of restoring unrestricted global maritime trade.

He stated that any naval mines still present in the strategic waterway would be cleared, noting that the US had already neutralised several mines using advanced minesweeping systems. According to Trump, Iran would also move swiftly to remove or destroy the remaining explosives.

Trump added that commercial vessels previously prevented from passing through the Strait of Hormuz due to the blockade would now be permitted to resume transit.

Addressing Iran’s nuclear activities, the US president claimed that a B-2 bomber strike carried out by the US nearly a year ago had buried Iranian nuclear material beneath collapsed mountain terrain after destroying facilities linked to enriched uranium production.

He further asserted that both the US and China possessed the technical expertise required to retrieve the buried material. He said the process would take place in coordination with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), after which the recovered nuclear material would be eliminated.

Trump also revealed that he was convening a meeting in the Situation Room to make a final decision regarding the matter.
