Prime Minister along with Army Chief visiting border area in Waziristan

Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa have reached Miranshah, North Waziristan today (Monday) where PM Khan is being briefed about the region’s security situation, ongoing stability operations, socio-economic projects and rehabilitation of Temporary Displaced Persons.

According to a notification issued by the Inter-Service Press Relations, the premier will be briefed about the region’s security situation, ongoing stability operations, socio-economic projects and rehabilitation of Temporary Displaced Persons.
Furthermore, PM Imran, during the visit, is scheduled to visit Ghulam Khan Terminal border crossing and address a jirga of local elders.
On November 23, COAS Bajwa said some elements were wittingly or unwittingly trying to pull the country back into confrontation. On the occasion, he also interacted with officers of the Multan Garrison and shared his thoughts on the security situation of the country, challenges and the response.
Earlier this month, Director-General ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor in a meeting with a delegation of journalists reaffirmed that Pakistan looks for peace yet any misadventure shall be responded befittingly.
