Baltistan clerics demand exclusion of Agha Ali Rizvi, others from fourth schedule

A meeting of senior religious scholars of Baltistan was held at Markazi Imamia Jamey Masjid in Skardu where the participants demanded exclusion of names of Allama Agha Syed Ali Rizvi and other leaders from the list of fourth schedule.

Hujjatul Islam Shaikh Mohammad Hassan Jafari chaired the meeting and representative delegations of religious scholars discussed the situation in Gilgit-Baltistan province.
They turned down the government propaganda against the leaders of rights movement of Gilgit-Baltistan. They said that religious scholar Allama Agha Ali Rizvi and all other religious scholars always preached and worked for unity and paved way for establishment of peace.
They said that Agha Ali Rizvi and those of his comrades who led struggle for legitimate rights of people of Gilgit-Baltistan and putting their names in the fourth schedule was a plot against peaceful GB region, enmity with Pakistan and a tactic to gag the genuine voice of opposition. They said including religious scholars in fourth schedule list was tantamount to contempt of religious scholars.
They demanded that names of GB rights movement leaders, including Allama Agha Syed Ali Rizvi be excluded from the list of fourth schedule.
