Bomb blast in Pishin leaves three Levies personnel martyred

At least three Levies personnel were martyred and two injured in a blast near the assistant commissioner Barshore’s car in Balochistan’s Pishin area on Friday, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner Pishin Waqar Khursheed Alam.

The martyred personnel were identified as Asmatullah Abdul Baqi and Jafar Khan. The AC, Amir Zaman Kakar, was not in the vehicle at the time of the attack.
The wounded were shifted to Quetta’s Civil Hospital for medical treatment where an emergency had been imposed to treat the injured.
A heavy contingent of Levies forces reached the site of the Pishin Bypass area where the attack took place, and police and members of the Bomb Disposal Squad looked into the nature of the blast.
Additional Deputy-commissioner Pishin Waqar Khursheed Alam said that the initial investigation revealed that it was a planted bomb. It was discovered that 5-6 kilograms of explosive materials were used in the bomb.
Provincial Home Minister Saleem Khosa condemned the blast and directed authorities to immediately submit a report on the incident and ensure the wounded received treatment.
“Terrorists will be dealt with with an iron first,” Khosa warned.
The funeral prayers of the three security officers, who were martyred earlier today in a remote-controlled bomb blast here, were offered Friday night.
The coffins carrying their bodies were wrapped in the country’s flag and were given a guard of honour.
Among the attendees at the funeral prayers were Commissioner Quetta, Levies Forces Director-General, Frontier Corps’ Sector Commander and Commandant FC, and District Police Officer (DPO) for Pishin, as well as various other officials.
