Jamaat-e-Islami leader assures ITP of no support to takfiris in Elections

Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Liaquat Baloch has met Allama Syed Sibtain Sabzwari of Islami Tehreek Pakistan (ITP) in Lahore and assured him that JI would not support any takfiri candidate in the Elections 2018.

“All the five member parties of MMA will unanimously support the MMA candidates in Elections,” he asserted.
The meeting came after Jhang-based leaders of Liaquat Baloch’s party had announced support to notorious takfiri outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba ringleader M Ahmed Ludhianvi in elections from Jhang constituencies.
Baloch said that JI too believes in the manifesto of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA); hence, would not support political trash, corrupt and takfiris in the Elections. He said MMA wants enforcement of Islamic system in Pakistan.
Shia Muslims had expressed dismay over the Jamaat-e-Islami who deviated from the ideology of its founder Abul Aala Moudoodi who is revered even in Shia majority countries Iran and Iraq as a thinker and philosopher of political Islam. Moudoodi had strongly opposed the dynastic despotic rule of Umayyad dynasty which he called monarchy and against the spirit of Islamic ideology and an antonym to the idea of guided caliphate.
In religio-political parties’ alliance MMA, Jamaat-e-Islami and another Deobandi party is an ally with Shia party Islami Tehreek Party led by Najaf-graduate Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi.
