MWM demands relief to affected residents of Malir Jafar-e-Tayyar Society

Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Karachi chapter’s secretary general Maulana Sadiq Jafari has demanded of Sindh Government to take immediate practical steps for rehabilitation of those residents of Malir Jafar-e-Tayyar Society whose houses were completely or partially demolished.

“Legally built houses were also damaged due to so-called anti-encroachment operation in Jafar-e-Tayyar Society; hence, government must give affected residents immediate relief,” he demanded.
Mr. Jafari said that the affected residents also contacted the MWM to seek help because their legally-built houses were also not spared when Karachi Building Control Authority and Karachi Development Authority jointly carried out anti-encroachment operation.
He said even gas and electricity’s metres were destroyed and targeting such buildings or metres was nothing but an unfair and unacceptable work. He said affected residents of Jafar-e-Tayyar Society must be provided financial assistance in reconstruction and repairing of their damaged houses. They should also be compensated for the loss of said metres.
Maulana Jafari made it clear MWM believes in rule of law but targeting legally built constructions can never be welcomed.
