Supreme Court dismissed review plea against Malik Ishaq

Malik-Ishaq-543The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday dismissed a review application seeking cancellation of bail to Malik Ishaq, Chief of a banned terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, in the Sri Lankan team attack case. 

According to the News Correspondent, The Malik Ishaq was involved in the attack on Sri Lankan team attack case, killing of hundreds of Shia Muslims, Beralvi clerics and attack on Government installations in the country.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani and Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa was hearing the matter at Lahore Registry of the apex court.

Earlier, a division bench of the Supreme Court had granted bail to Malik Ishaq in the attack case wherein he was accused of masterminding it while in prison.

The Punjab government had moved a review application before the apex court to cancel the bail. The bench, however, dismissed it today. After his release from the custody, the chief of terrorist outfit was spread the sectarian violence in Southern Punjab and attack on Shia Mosque in Alipur District. 

Malik Ishaq was released on July 14, 2011, after being imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat jail for 14 years. He was involved in the killing of more than 150 people majority of them belongs from Shia Community.
