Terrorism averted in Karachi and Rahimyar Khan as bomb defused in residential area

explosive-materialThe Bomb Disposal Unit on Wednesday saved Karachi from another act of terrorism when it defused a 13-kilogram bomb that was recovered from Khalid bin Waleed Road.
The bomb was found in the residential area Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society (PECHS) block 6 at Khalid Bin Waleed road. The BDU was called in immediately to defuse the bomb.
According to the BDU officials, the bomb weighed around 13 kilograms and if it had not been defused on time it would have caused a huge loss of life and damage to properties. The bomb was an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) connected with a battery and a mobile phone, they added.
In Rahimyar Khan of Punjab province, 2 terrorists were arrested and 6 kg explosive material was recovered near railway line.
