About 1000 top Pakistani Shiite clerics backs Bahraini uprising

According to the Shiite News Correspondent, The Shiite clerics an unanimously adopted resolution expressed their solidarity with the Uprising in Middle East and North African Countires.

The meeting of Top Shia cleris of Pakistan was held at Jamiatul- Mutazir Lahore, Noted Shia Cleric Hafiz Riaz Hussain Naqvi (Head of Jamia-tul-Muntazir), Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi (SUC-MMA), Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffari (MWM), Qazi Niaz Hussain Naqvi, Sheikh Mohsin Ali Najafi (Jamia AhlulBait), Maulana Malik Ejaz Hussain, Sheikh Shifa Najafi and other senior clercis.

Criticizing the remarks some elements to term the uprising in Bahrain a sectarian movement, they said that “The uprising of the people of Bahrain is essentially the same as the uprising of the people of Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and Yemen.”

They added that the people of Bahrain only want free elections. “Is this too much to expect?” and criticized the silence of World Community and conspiracies of American government on the crime of ruling regime of Bahrain Khalifa’s.

They pointed out that American government is equally responsible of the crimes committed by the Bahraini regime against its own people saying that US wanted to protect its fifth Navy fleet in Bahrain.

Shiite Clerics condemned the desecration of the gave of companion of Holy Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) in Bahrain by the Saudi troops during the crackdown against pro-democracy protesters in Bahrain.

They have called on Bahraini authorities to end a violent crackdown on anti-government protesters in the kingdom.

Expressing grave concerns about American and coalition forces strike on Libya and genocide of protesters in Libya by Gaddafi’s loyal forces, they demanded of the United Nation to protect the people of Libya from both America and Gaddafi’s terrorism.

They hoped that the Islamic Awakening in the region will be succeeded and they days of American and Israeli agents are numbered.

It may be noted here that the Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates have dispatched their armed forces to crisis-hit Bahrain to assist the rulers in Manama with their brutal crackdown on nationwide protests against the Salfai’s-led monarchy’s persistent suppression of the majority Shia population.

Foreign military intervention in Bahrain has also concerned UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who has called for a meaningful and broad-based national dialogue.

The UN chief also urged Bahrain’s regional neighbors and the international community to support a dialogue process and an environment conducive to credible reform in Bahrain.

Bahraini demonstrators maintain that they will hold their ground until their demands for freedom, constitutional monarchy and a voice in the government are met.
