Sargodha mourns suicide attack

Different Shia organizations including Jafaria Alliance Pakistan (JAP), Majlis-e-Wahdate Muslimeen (MWM) and Shia Ulema Council (SUC) announced three-day  mourning and a protest rally also took out from local Shia seminary Darul-Uloom-e-Mohammadia block 19 Sargodha. The protestors burnt tyres and  demanded immediate arrest of culprits.

According to details, the people in Sargodha is extremely upset and annoyed over the suicidal blast in a mosque which occurred exactly at the time of Namaz-e-Maghribain yesterday, and they are agitating and protesting against this blast at their fullest.

The overall atmosphere of the city is very sad while people have expressed their deep anguish against this cowardly act of the terrorists and said that this type of saddening incidents are a conspiracy to weaken the country and its unity.

Today, a protest rally was also held against this sad incident which was moved from the different areas of the city and finally reached at the G.T.Road, where a sit-in was observed.

To protest against this wicked act of the terrorists, today, on the appeal of the Traders Association of Sargodha, all the shops and trading centers of the city remained closed and a complete strike was observed.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened across the district. A three-member investigation team headed by SP Investigation Habib Shah has been constituted to probe the incident. One person was killed and 20 wounded in a suicide blast occurred on Sunday.

Crackdown after suicide attack

Sargodha police started crackdown after the suicide attack on local Shia seminary Darul-Uloom-e-Mohammadia during the Maghrib prayers Sunday in a crowded place.

DIG Sargodhga Javed Islam said the police raided in search of activists of banned organizations and other suspects. All markets would remain close today in the city to mourn the heinous act.

14 worshipers were wounded in a blast outsidelocal Shia seminary Darul-Uloom-e-Mohammadiaon Sunday at crowded city center ‘Sharbat Chowk, when the worshipers were offered the Maghrib prayers.

The blast occurred at the gate of ‘Darul Uloom Muhammadia.’ The rescue teams, police and other law-enforcement agencies carried out rescue and relief operation.
