A Shia police officer embraced martyrdom in a targeted attack by Yazidi nasbi takfiri terrorists of outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba in North Karachi on Wednesday night.
Shiite News Correspondent reported here that Syed Irfan Haider and sub-inspector Shahbaz Ali were having tea at a local teashop near Habib Masjid, Anda Morr, North Karachi when two terrorists riding a motorcycle opened fire upon them and escaped.
Both police officials were martyred. Inspector Irfan Haider had served at various police stations of the city as Station House Officer (SHO). He was given charge of Sir Syed police station about 15 days ago. Shahbaz Ali was Station Investigation Officer (SIO) of the New Karachi police station.
A police mobile on routine snap checking was also stationed near the spot, however, the culprits managed to escape before the police could take action.
Body of the martyr was taken to Shohda-e-Karbala Imam Bargah after the autopsy at a hospital. The martyr was resident of Sadat Colony Incholi. He left behind four children among mourners. Imran Haider Naqvi, known for reciting Hadees-e-Kissa and other prayers, is brother of Irfan Haider.
Shia parties and leaders have condemned the targeted murder of Shia police officer along with his friend and termed it part of ongoing genocide of Shiites. They said that head of the outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba (renamed as Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat) had visited Karachi recently and he had ordered his terrorists to intensify the pogrom of Shiites. They said that during last 22 days 18 Shia Muslims have been martyred.
