5 martyred in targeted attack on Shia population by Sipah-e-Yazid in Bhakkar

mafiyaFive persons were martyred due to armed attack of outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba’s terrorists in Bhakkar district of Punjab on Friday.

The outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba that has renamed as Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat to continue its banned activities staged a rally in from Darya Khan to Kotla Jam, Bhakkar. When the rally reached Shia population, the terrorists raised takfiri slogans and opened fire upon the peaceful people of Shia population. They also opened straight fire on a medical store.

Due to their armed attack on peaceful Shiites in Kotla Jam and Daryabad, 5 Shiites embraced martyrdom and several others were injured. They were identified as Safdar Shah and Imran Sheerazi of Darya Khan and Ali Raza, Khan Mohammad and Kamran Mohana of Kotla Jam.

The residents tried to defend themselves and they aerial firing in self defence. Reports had it that 2 of the terrorists had died and some were injured due to indiscriminate firing.

Affected area’s residents rejected the media reports that it was a clash between two religious groups. They warned the media persons to desist from equating peaceful residents with the sectarian and fanatic terrorists. They said it was an armed and provocative attack on peaceful population. They said that self defence was their legal right that they opted for.

The victims’ families and friends have gathered at Hussaini Chowk to protest against the attack on their houses and unarmed people.

Shia parties and leaders have condemned the terrorist attack on peaceful people and casualties of peaceful Shiites and pedestrians. They said that outlawed terrorist outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba has never renounced terrorism but only renamed it as Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat to hoodwink people.

They said that PMLN’s government at the Centre and in Punjab were responsible for each and every act of the outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba because they have taken no action against the terrorist group and struck deals with them.
