Shia Ulema Council says efforts to establish peace should begin from Karachi
Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi, secretary general of the Shia Ulema Council, said that the efforts to establish peace in the country should begin from Karachi. He said that the target killers rule Karachi and writ of the government has failed to stop targeted murders of Karachi’ites.
He condemned the targeted murder of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s leader Zahra Shahid and said that people of Karachi are being harassed through targeted murders, threats and kidnapping.
“Peace in Karachi is tantamount to peace in whole of Pakistan and destroying peace of commercial capital of Pakistan poses serious threat to the economy of Pakistan,†he said.
He said that if the government establishes peace in Karachi, peace in Pakistan will be established automatically.
