Pakistan has not yet joined Saudi led military alliance: Sartaj Aziz

Shiite News: Pakistan’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan has not yet joined the 34 countries military alliance formed under the leadership of Saudi Arabia.

While answering questions regarding Saudi military alliance and Pakistan army’s participation in military exercises in Saudi Arabia, Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan has not yet joined the 34 member military alliance formed under the leadership of Saudi Arabia and further details and technical advice is needed to join the military alliance.

He said “we were told that the alliance would take joint action on 6 points. When the meeting of all member countries will be called then the matter of Iran and Iraq’s participation in the alliance will be discussed”.

“Pakistan army is taking part in the joint military exercises of 20 countries on the basis of a defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and more than one thousand military men are present in Saudi Arabia for providing training whereas Saudi military is also being trained in Pakistan”, he added.
