Report Alleges Rise in Sectarian Hate Campaigns on Pakistani Social Media

Takfiri Extremist Group Active on Social Media in Pakistan, Law Enforcement Accused of Remaining Silent

Shiite News: According to the report, a coordinated campaign has allegedly been launched in Pakistan to spread sectarian hatred and discord. The report claims that the social media wing of the banned extremist organizations Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) has become active through various identified and fake social media accounts to promote sectarian division.

According to the report, following what it describes as Iran’s historic success against the United States and Israel, and the support expressed by many Pakistani Sunni Muslims for the Iranian people and leadership, groups allegedly backed by foreign interests have become increasingly active.

The report further alleges that individuals linked to the banned organizations Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) have initiated a new campaign on social media aimed at creating divisions between Shia and Sunni communities.

It claims that accounts operating under names such as Sunni News, Mahaz TV, Nokar Sahaba Da, and others are spreading anti-Shia content and criticism directed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hezbollah, Ansar Allah, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and other religious figures and symbols.

The report also alleges that an individual identified as Muhammad Yousaf, described as being affiliated with the banned organization Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, is using the slogan of defending the honor of the Companions to allegedly incite hostility against members of the Shia community in a systematic manner.
