Three Clerics Arrested After Alleged Abuse of Children at Sahiwal Madrasa
Shiite News: A disturbing case of the alleged sexual abuse of children has emerged from a religious seminary in Sahiwal.
According to police, action was taken after a video allegedly showing the abuse of children at a madrasa in the Kameer area of Sahiwal surfaced online. Acting on the immediate orders of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Usman Teepu, police arrested three suspects.
Police said that, following the DPO’s directives, officers at Kameer Police Station arrested the suspects identified as Maulvi Umar Hayat, Hafiz Sanwal, and Ahmad, who were named in the case. Authorities alleged that the three suspects were affiliated with the banned organization Sipah-e-Sahaba.
Police added that the investigation is continuing in accordance with the law and that all relevant evidence is being collected to ensure the case reaches its logical conclusion through the judicial process.

DPO Muhammad Usman Teepu directed officials to provide the affected children with every possible legal protection and ordered that the investigation be conducted transparently and strictly on merit so that anyone found responsible can be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
