Raja Nasir Abbas Demands Full Security for Muharram Mourners Across Pakistan
Muharram Belongs to All Muslims; Mourners Must Be Given Full Protection, Says Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri
According to Shiite News, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate of Pakistan and Chairman of MWM Pakistan, Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, while speaking to the media outside Parliament House, stated that the holy month of Muharram is a shared heritage of all Muslims. Love and devotion for Imam Hussain (AS) and the Ahlul Bayt (AS) are part of every Muslim’s faith; therefore, it is the government’s responsibility to provide complete security and all necessary facilities to mourners.

He said that the inclusion of various personalities in the Fourth Schedule and the imposition of restrictions ahead of Muharram are concerning developments, especially when such actions are taken against individuals who have consistently promoted peace, unity, and brotherhood.
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri further stated that no permission is required for holding religious gatherings (Majalis) within private premises, and a clear judgment of the Lahore High Court exists in this regard. Despite this, cases are being registered against organizers and hosts of Majalis, which amounts to a violation of fundamental constitutional and religious rights.
He added that following the tragic martyrdom of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, an extraordinary sense of unity and solidarity has emerged among Muslims. Preserving this unity is the need of the hour.
