Maryam Nawaz Government’s Claims of Facilitating Azadaran-e-Hussaini Fall Flat as Majalis-e-Aza Banned at Imam Bargah Qasr-e-Zainab in Jhelum

ShiiteNews – Jhelum: The district administration has reportedly stopped the Muharram Majalis-e-Aza at Imam Bargah Qasr-e-Zainab (A.S.) located in Mouza Banth Syedan during the first ten days of Muharram.

According to reports, on the occasion of the Chand Raat Majlis, women present inside the Imam Bargah were asked to leave the premises. Security personnel were deployed at the Imam Bargah, and entry to the venue was prohibited.

The affected women staged a strong protest outside the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Jhelum against the unexpected action. Negotiations were also held with the Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG), but the administration has so far not granted permission for the Majalis-e-Aza to resume.

Residents of the area expressed deep concern over the decision and demanded the immediate restoration of Azadari and the continuation of Muharram gatherings.
