Martyrdom anniversary of Syed Askari Raza observed amid refreshed memories of his services for legitimate rights of oppressed Shia community.
Askari Raza embraced martyrdom near NIPA Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Karachi on December 31, 2011.
Since then, his family ran from pillar to post to seek justice. But terrorists who assassinated Askari continue to stay above the law.

Even the dejected wife of martyr Askari Raza passed away in the late November 2020 after having fallen ill.
Now a son and a daughter remain to continue their legal battle under assistance from Jafaria Legal Aid.
Takfiri nabsi terrorists of outlawed Sipah Sahaba (Lashkar-e-Jhangvi) had assassinated Askari Raza because he led campaign against them.
Since he coordinated legal defense for many innocent Shia youth against takfiri terrorism and violent extremism, the outlawed terror outfits targeted him.
Notably, he had served the community as rights activist and coordinator for legal battle.
Karachi-based Shia Muslims continue to revere martyr Syed Askari Raza.
However, many among friends and relatives also observe the anniversary in accordance with Islamic calendar.
The sacred blood of the defender of innocent Shia prisoners revivified Shia Muslim community across Pakistan.
Specially, Shia Muslims instantly came out to participate in the funeral procession of Syed Askari Raza.
Record number of people participated in the funeral procession that turned historic.
However, the heirs of the martyr Askari Raza had not taken the body to graveyard but they led the mourners to Governor House to register protest.
Notably, hundreds of thousands of Shias marched on foot from Incholi to the Governor House.
While seeking justice, they spent the coldest nights on main road outside Governor House in Karachi.
There, they staged an epoch-making sit-in in the Red Zone area.
However, their nightlong mourn and protest compelled the government to meet their demands.
Finally, Police had to register an FIR against the takfiri terrorists.
Later, mourners offered his namaz-e-janaza in front of Governor House.
Then the funeral procession began their journey to culminate at Wadi-e-Hussain (AS) Graveyard on main superhighway.
His martyrdom and funeral turned historic in all respect.
Although people were celebrating Happy New Year night, lovers and followers of Imam Hussain (AS) were mourning the brutal assassination of Syed Askari Raza.
The martyr Askari had a clear message to Shia leaders and youths: Don’t refrain from helping innocent Shia prisoners.
Moreover, he urged all Shias to provide them all out legal assistance and look after their dependents.
Unfortunately, the state authorities have failed to punish the terrorists who had assassinated Syed Askari Raza.
