Shia leader Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi released after 18 years detention

Renowned Shia leader Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi was finally released on Friday after spending 18 long years in detention without any crime. Justice was denied to him for 18 years that he spent behind the bars with no conviction by any court.

Thousands of supporters gathered outside the Camp Jail and he led reception rally that culminated at his residence. He thanked God and the supporters who struggled and prayed for his release. He was looking physically weak because of the hardships he faced during detention.

Despite Court’s Orders for release in late October 2014, Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi was not being released. After Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore’s orders for his release, his lovers gathered at the Camp Jail Lahore on a call from Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Punjab chapter to accord him warm welcome.

But, Punjab government angered them by announcing continued detention for another 3 months. Pro-takfiri Shahbaz Sharif’s PMLN government in Punjab detained him under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO). Amazingly, ringleaders of banned terrorist outfits such as Ludhianvi, Malik Ishaq, Masood ur Rehman, and their comrades are free in Punjab to continue genocide against Shia Muslims.

On an appeal from the MWM Punjab, many Shiites began staging sit-in outside Camp Jail on October 28 to protest against the pro-takfiri biased decision of the Punjab government not to release the Prisoner of Conscience of Pakistan Allama Naqvi.

Shia Muslims respect Mr. Naqvi because he tried to protect Shiites in Pakistan but the anti-Shia establishment defamed him and conspired to punish him for vowing defence of Shia Muslims. Despite their conspiracies, the enemies failed to protect a single charge against him. In the modern legal terminology, justice delayed is considered justice denied and in the case of Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi, justice was delayed for last 18 hours and it was in fact denial of justice.

Shia leader Ghulam Raza Naqvi, the head of Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan (SMP) was imprisoned in 1996 and charges were framed against him that he or his party was involved in killing of the takfiri nasbi terrorists who the government itself declared terrorists. On August 14, 2001 military ruler President Pervez Musharraf a longtime of takfiris banned the Naqvi’s party to equate the oppressed Shia Muslims with the takfiri nasbi terrorists who were the oppressors.
