Ashura procession death toll rises to 43, mourners performed funeral prayer at Shah Khurasan

The death toll in bombing at Ashura procession Karachi has reached to 43, an official Tuesday said.

Sindh Provincial Secretary Health Hashim Raza Zaidi has informed the media that 40 dead bodies of the victims of the Youm-e-Ashur procession attack were at Civil Hospital, while two bodies were at Jinnah Hospital and one body placed at Aga Khan Hospital of Karachi.

The funeral prayers of the martyrs of Karachi suicide attack was offered at Shah-e-Khurasan Road led by Noted religious scholar Maulana Sheikh Salahuddin. Thousands of mourners (Azadar) were attended the funeral prayers of five martyrs of the Ashura-e-Hussaini suicide bomb blast in karachi. Hundreds of Shia Ulema’s, religious scholars, Ulema’s, Zakarin, politician’s, government officials were attended the funeral prayer at Shah-e-Khurasan.


Imamia Students Organization (ISO) and others Shiite scouts groups were performed the duties of security of the funeral prayers, while large amount of Rangers and Police were also deployed to control any untoward situation.

Enraged mourners (Azadar’s) were chanting the slogans against United States, Israel, terrorists Taliban’s and demanded of the government to immediately arrest the terrorists and their supporters involved in this mayhem.

They are chanting the slogans of Labik Ya Hussain (AS), Hussainiyat Zindabad, Yazidiyat Murdabad, and Shahadat Shahadat Saadat Saadat.

The metropolis wears a deserted look a day after the attack on a mourning procession on Youm-e-Ashur.

Federal Minister of Interior Rehman Malik has constituted a joint investigation team for the Karachi bombing probe.

Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has also announced the day of mourning today as public holiday has been declared in the province.

However, The funeral prayers for Rangers personnel Abdur Razzaq, who laid down his life while intercepting the suicide bomber, have been offered at Polo Ground in Karachi. Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and other high-ups attended the funeral.
