A US drone crashed in Iraq; 2 Iraqi killed

Iraqi local sources said on Tuesday that a US drone had crashed in Salah al-Din province in northern Baghdad.

According to the Iraqi National News Agency (Nina), the sources said that the drone crashed near the Biji desert near the Haditha area.

According to these sources, following the crash of the drone, the American forces sent another drone and destroyed the wreckage of the crashed plane.

Two Iraqi nationals were reported killed in the attack.

One of the top priorities for the new Iraqi prime minister, Mustafa al-Kazemi, is to pursue the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, which has become a public demand.

Iraqi lawmakers unanimously approved a bill on January 5, demanding the withdrawal of all foreign military forces led by the United States from the country following the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of Iraq’s Hashd al-Sha’abi, and their companions in a US airstrike authorized by President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport two days earlier.
