Imam Khamenei Receives Rohani, Sayyed Nasrallah, Al-Assad Congratulate Him

imam 2The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei gave Sunday the necessary guidelines to the new elected President, Sheikh Hassan Rohani.

Imam Khamenei and the president-elect held a meeting on Sunday, one day after the official announcement of Rohani’s victory.
The Leader wished Rohani success in his new position.
Rohani emerged victorious in Iran’s 11th presidential election, which was marked by high voter turnout, by winning 18,613,329 of a total of 36,704,156 ballots counted.

The Interior Ministry put voter turnout at 72.7 percent.
Rohani currently represents Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei in the Supreme National Security Council, and is member of the Expediency Council and the Assembly of Experts. He is also President of the Expediency Council’s Center for Strategic Research.

Meanwhile, Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah cabled Rohani, congratulating him on his victory in Iran’s presidential election.

“Hizbullah along with all the mujahideen in this country of resistance congratulate you … for aptly earning the big trust of the great people and for electing you as President of the blessed Islamic Republic,” Sayyed Nasrallah said in the cable.
In addition, the Resistance Leader stated, “This election comes amid political, popular and historic epic unmatched in today’s world, which complied with the call of the holy Supreme Leader Imam Khamenei [long live], and achieved his dear wish.”

His Eminence further stated He told Rohani that his victory met the “expectations of the Iranian people,” and “renewed the trust of the vulnerable friends and brethren in the Arab and Islamic world”.
“We ask Almighty God, in all humility and supplication, to bless you, help you and make you able to meet all hopes through the government of management and hope,” Sayyed Nasrallah’s letter concluded.

For his part, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad congratulated the Iranian president-elect for securing the highest number of votes in the country’s 11th presidential election.
In his letter, the Syrian leader offered “heartfelt congratulations and best wishes” to Rohani on behalf of the Syrian nation for gaining “the trust of millions of the brotherly Iranian people,” Syria’s official news agency, SANA, reported.

In parallel, al-Assad underlined the Arab state’s determination to boost bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries.
He also stressed the need for “confronting the plots of hegemony and aggression against the national sovereignty in our region in a way that reflects positively on the peoples of both friendly countries as well as the peoples of the region and the whole world.”
